Fruits source from our low yielding vineyards in Shanxi & Ningxia.
Deep Blue always be a cross-regional blend wine within Shanxi & Ningxia. Depending on the harvest condition, each year both vineyards perform differently making the blending prediction of this wine very challenging yet enjoyable. A rather high moisture year in Ningxia making the Merlot (the main component) vines a little vigor than usual. The harvest were later than usual by around 2 weeks, gave the fruits additional time on vine to build in more textural tannin and riper flavour profile to the wine.

Length/Type of Aging : Up to 16 months barrel aging in French oak. 13% New French Oak + 25% 1 Year old oak + 62 % 2 to 4 years old oak. A small proportion of the wine were fermented & age in tradition concrete tanks.

Alc : 15.0%vol

Tasting Note :

Deep Dark red with purple hue.
Ripe dark plums, cassis and blue fruits notes dominant the nose. The oak profile contribute a little to the spicy tune, vanilla & toastiness on the back ground.
On the palate, it is generous with well filled texture of ripe complex fruit & fine tannin. The mid palate filled with juiciness / fullness, chocolate notes with well coated sensations of tannin & profound fruit sweetness. All elements are well integrated in the wine, balance & lengthy finish.

"Grace Vineyard Deep Blue" is a very personal wine for Judy. When She began at Grace Vineyard at 24 years old, she felt as though she was trying to survive in a vast ocean. Instead of being discouraged by the challenge ahead of her, she was inspired and strengthened (and a bit terrified!). The Book Blue Ocean Strategy showed her that being an outsider could be a strength, not a weakness, and helped her chart a course that she has been on ever since and this wine is named in the book's honor.

In 2008, Grace Vineyard Deep Blue was available to in-flight services of Cathay Pacific Airways first class and business class.
