Tasya's Reserve Aglianico 2020
Vineyard Region : Shanxi Grape Variety : 100% Aglianico Length/Type of Fermentation : The 2020 vintage proved to be another fortunate harvest for this variety following 2019. The vineyard received more than the usual pre-harvest rain and the finished wine therefore shows slightly lower alcohol. The fruit underwent vigorous hand selection prior to destemming. Fermentation occurred at relatively high temperatures, with routine hand plunging to optimize flavor and color extraction. Length/Type of Aging : Combination of 15% new French oak barrels and 85 % 1st & 2nd & 3rd use barrel. Total of 18 months spend in aging. We do not do any fining on this vintage & conduct only polished filter prior to bottling. Alc : 13.5%vol Tasting Note : Dark red with crimson a light crisom core and a mild brick rim. A short decanting of 15 to 30 minutes will open the wine further.

Naming the series after his first granddaughter, Anastasya, our founder Mr. Chun-Keung Chan expressed his aspiration and commitment that his successors would continue to improve on this series of wine for years to come. We intentionally make this series into all single-varietal wines, in order to express the character of each grape planted in our various vineyards in China. Planted in Southern Italy 2,500 years ago, Aglianico often referred as "Barolo of South Italy". It's now being reborn in Grace Vineyard. The vine was planted in 2006 in our Shanxi vineyard. Well Structured, in-depth with long finish. 1266 bottles were made from 2020 harvest.
